HeYou International Hospital Project Officially Initiates Main Structure Construction

On the morning of May 27, the topping-out ceremony for the administrative building of the HeYou International Hospital Project was held in Beijiao, Shunde, Foshan. This marks another significant construction milestone since the hospital's groundbreaking in November 2020.

According to reports, the HeYou International Hospital project covers a planned area of 386 mu, with a total construction area of 580,000 square meters, and is planned to have 1,500 beds, with operations expected to commence in 2024.

Hospital Administrative Building Topped Out; Outpatient and Inpatient Building to Follow by Year-End

It is reported that the HeYou International Hospital project originates from the philanthropic vision of Midea founder He Xiangjian to "benefit the community and give back to society." Positioned as a non-profit hospital, all future operating surpluses will be used for the hospital's own development, medical research, and social welfare.
The hospital is designed according to the standards of a domestic Grade 3A general hospital and international quality certification systems, covering a planned area of 386 mu, with a total construction area of 580,000 square meters, 1,500 planned beds, and a green rate as high as 30%.

On May 27, the administrative building of the HeYou International Hospital project was topped out. At the event, Liu Xiaofang, Deputy Director of the HeYou International Hospital Project Management Committee and Hospital President, expressed the hope that all participating construction parties and the hospital project team would take the topping-out of the administrative building's main structure as a new starting point. He emphasized focusing on key milestones, including the topping-out of the outpatient and inpatient building's main structure by the end of 2022, the administrative building becoming operational by June 2023, and the hospital's successful opening by June 2024, working together to refine, solidify, and optimize every aspect of the hospital project.

According to the plan, the hospital will include functional areas such as outpatient services, inpatient care, administrative offices, IMC international medical services, proton and heavy ion cancer treatment, academic exchange, medical research, and education and training. It will also feature dedicated areas such as exclusive talent housing for medical staff.

Furthermore, the hospital's construction plan includes the first standalone proton and heavy ion center project in South China, with treatment directions including nasopharyngeal carcinoma and other cancers prevalent in Guangdong Province. Upon completion, this project will enhance cancer treatment capabilities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even South China. The proton and heavy ion center is expected to be completed and commence registered clinical trials in 2026.

On April 20, the showroom for the HeYou International Hospital project was completed. Covering an area of approximately 430 square meters, the hospital showroom features functional zones including a nurse station, consultation rooms, double-patient wards, suite wards, restrooms, and accessible restrooms, simulating the future medical scenarios, service processes, and a series of "HeYou Black Technologies."

On May 27, the HeYou International Hospital project showroom was opened to the media for the first time. During the on-site demonstration by HeYou medical staff, smart healthcare products such as the smart nursing service screen, smart logistics system, bedside electronic terminal, and smart hospital beds were also unveiled.

By wearing a smart wristband, patients can be accurately located in real-time

Smart healthcare is an essential path to optimizing medical services. The smart nursing service screen behind the nurse station in the hospital showroom completely frees nurses from constant walking. One screen displays the real-time locations of patients, medical staff, equipment, and valuable consumables; another screen monitors intravenous infusion status in the wards in real-time.

Notably, the smart logistics system embedded in the wall behind the nurse station is a pneumatic tube transport system provided by a well-known logistics automation brand. Resembling a roller coaster in appearance, it has a maximum load capacity of 15 kg and operates at a speed of 4-6 meters per second, suitable for transporting small, urgently needed items (such as blood and urine specimens).

Additionally, the bedside electronic terminal configured next to the hospital bed integrates comprehensive and humanized smart systems, including environmental control, smart infusion, nursing calls, and vital sign monitoring, all of which patients can operate independently from their beds.
Smart Hospital Beds

Smart hospital beds primarily refer to beds that, in addition to conventional functions like elevation, can automatically detect and record patient data such as heart rate, respiration, and weight in real-time. This helps medical staff comprehensively and promptly understand patients' vital signs and rest status. Furthermore, through integration with the hospital's HIS system for fall prevention alarm linkage, patient safety is effectively ensured.
