On July 29, HeYou Hospital and HeYou Zhizhen Hospital IMC marked their “first month” of operation. How has the hospital been performing? What changes has it brought to the medical experience for citizens? On that day, the hospital held a media briefing on its first month of operation, introducing measures to improve medical service quality and patient experience.

Universal Healthcare, Medical Insurance Accepted

HeYou Hospital and HeYou Zhizhen Hospital IMC are key construction projects of Guangdong Province, funded by Midea Holdings with an investment of over RMB 10 billion, and officially opened on June 28, 2024. Located in Beijiao Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, the hospital has a total building area of 580,000 square meters and a planned bed capacity of 1,500.

Among them, HeYou Hospital is a non-profit tertiary general hospital. Based on the regional disease spectrum and medical needs, the hospital focuses on building centers of excellence such as the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Brain Science and Neurology Center, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center, Cardiovascular Medicine Center, Women's and Children's Medical Center, and Health Management Center, currently with 46 departments.

HeYou Hospital's medical service prices are benchmarked against public tertiary hospitals, providing patients with high-quality, affordable medical services, alleviating the financial burden of medical treatment for the public. The hospital has obtained designated medical insurance service qualifications for outpatient, inpatient, and maternity insurance, allowing citizens to enjoy medical insurance reimbursement benefits when seeking treatment.

HeYou Zhizhen Hospital IMC provides high-end medical services, further meeting the diversified and multi-level medical needs of patients.

Smart Healthcare Optimizes Patient Experience

According to the hospital, operations have been progressing smoothly in the month since HeYou Hospital opened. To enhance the patient experience, HeYou Hospital is actively building a smart hospital. Through innovative initiatives such as the “1+NEXT Transparent Outpatient Service” and smart medical insurance face-scanning services, it has achieved transparency and convenience in the diagnosis and treatment process. Patients can not only view real-time information on the diagnosis and treatment process, queue status, test results, and billing information on their mobile phones, but also utilize the medical intelligent assistant system as a personal healthcare companion.

Media visited the hospital for interviews and held discussions with hospital leaders and experts

The hospital adopts a centralized diagnosis and treatment model, with each clinic area equipped with blood collection, ECG, and other facilities, allowing patients to complete routine examinations within the department, thereby improving medical efficiency.

The pharmacy automation system comes from KUKA Swisslog. When a doctor prescribes medication and the patient pays, the pharmacy's core control system automatically prints the dispensing list, quickly sorts the medication, and dispatches it directly to the window. Patients only need to wait approximately 8-10 seconds to quickly receive their medication, improving consultation efficiency.

“From registration to consultation, from examination to medication collection, every step is designed with human-centric considerations, making it very convenient and efficient,” said Ms. Zhang, a patient's family member. She noted that the hospital's environment is very warm and comfortable, and the professional and attentive service of the medical staff left a deep impression.

Multidisciplinary Diagnosis for Complex Cases

The hospital's discipline leaders are all from top domestic hospitals, covering well-known clinical experts in various specialized fields with extensive clinical experience and profound academic achievements. Additionally, there are several expert professors from renowned overseas medical centers, such as chief scientists of key R&D projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and outstanding academic/technical leaders. The addition of these expert teams provides patients with high-level medical services.

For complex and difficult diseases, HeYou Hospital has established a multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment mechanism. Through close cooperation between different departments, it provides patients with comprehensive and personalized treatment plans. This diagnostic and treatment model not only improves treatment outcomes but also enhances patients' confidence in their treatment.

——A 73-year-old tumor patient with multiple complex diseases recently underwent successful removal of a giant tumor approximately 11 cm in diameter by the team led by Director Li Jun of the General Surgery Department at HeYou Hospital, under close multidisciplinary collaboration. The patient recovered well after surgery, and the family expressed great satisfaction with the hospital's medical skills and services.

——Under the leadership of Director Li Hui, the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery recently successfully completed the hospital's first high-difficulty surgery — total laryngectomy + bilateral neck lymph node dissection + esophageal reconstruction + laryngostomy. The extremely low blood loss ensured surgical safety, removed the lesion, relieved breathing difficulties, and greatly improved the patient's quality of life, opening a new chapter in life.

“Medical + Charity” Making Quality Healthcare More Accessible

Adhering to the original public welfare intention of “benefiting the community and giving back to society,” HeYou Hospital actively fulfills its social responsibilities. It explores a new path for the “Medical + Charity” brand service, allowing high-quality medical resources to benefit more groups. For example, it participated in the Beijiao Charity Association · Beijiao Town “Healthy Town” charity event, undertaking two projects: tumor PET/CT examination and cardiovascular disease screening; the “HeYou Health Hut” was unveiled at Midea Luhu, creating a new model of “healthcare + cultural tourism”; through forms such as the HeYou Health Club, HeYou Volunteer Service Team, and community volunteer organizations, it actively carries out health science popularization, health consultation, and other activities.

Liu Xiaofang, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of HeYou International Hospital Group and President of HeYou Hospital, stated that on the path of medical service, HeYou is still a beginner. The hospital will adhere to the “patient-centered” service philosophy, bringing patients a smoother, more convenient, and more comfortable medical experience, making the hospital a trusted health harbor for patients.
