Nephrology & Clinical Nutrition Online Live Stream: 130 Kidney Disease Patients Benefit from Cloud-Based Care
To enhance health management awareness among patients with chronic kidney disease, the Brand Marketing Department introduced two large patient and family communities (each with over 500 members) and collaborated with the Department of Nephrology and the Department of Clinical Nutrition to establish the "Kidney Care Cloud Classroom" online live streaming platform. On the evening of March 24, Professor Pan Tao, Director of the Department of Nephrology, and Professor Zhang Wenqing, Director of the Department of Clinical Nutrition, were invited to jointly go online, providing professional diagnosis and treatment advice and scientific dietary guidance to 130 kidney disease patients and their families.

Director Pan Tao focused on explaining the standardized examination items for patients with a single kidney, the assessment of the impact of contrast agents on renal function, and the monitoring methods for renal function changes after nephrectomy, as well as the key points for evaluating recovery potential. He also addressed patients' concerns regarding indicators such as creatinine and glomerular filtration rate, providing a detailed interpretation of daily kidney care essentials and precautions for the use of common medications (e.g., cold medicines, antibiotics).

Director Zhang Wenqing systematically explained the key points of nutritional management for kidney disease patients, including the scientific supplementation of macronutrients and micronutrients, the principles of a high-quality protein diet for patients with renal insufficiency, and nutritional support strategies to improve appetite during treatment. She demonstrated dietary pairing techniques for kidney disease patients through specific case studies.

During the live stream, there were over 80 interactive messages. Kidney disease patients from across the country highly praised the precise answers provided by the HeYou expert team, stating that the live stream resolved their long-standing medication concerns. They commended the experts' explanations as "easy to understand and closely aligned with practical needs." In the future, the hospital will connect with more patient groups and channels, regularly conduct public welfare themed live streams and online/offline patient activities, and continue to build a "Doctor-Patient Cloud Community" to serve more patients.
