From August 19 to 22, the expert team from Mayo Clinic in the United States visited HeYou International Hospital Group again for a four-day follow-up on quality, safety, and nursing projects.

The two parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on core topics such as the construction of quality control dashboards, the implementation of international patient safety goals, nursing competency training, and leadership development through diverse formats including clinical rounds, thematic seminars, and improvement project reviews, providing new impetus for HeYou International Hospital Group to become a benchmark for international medical quality.

Mayo Clinic Experts Conducting Clinical Rounds

Quality Dashboard Construction: Data-Driven Management Closed Loop

During the real-time quality control dashboard discussion session, the Mayo Clinic team recognized HeYou's practice of dynamically visualizing key indicators (such as mortality rate and unplanned return to the operating room rate).

Director Zhang Min of the HeYou Quality Management Department demonstrated real-time data monitoring to the Mayo Clinic experts. Currently, HeYou's quality control dashboard has integrated multiple medical data sources, including the medical record system, nursing system, and hospital infection control system, achieving dynamic monitoring and closed-loop management of various key clinical indicators, continuously optimizing medical quality management driven by data.

Focus on Patient Safety: Precise Implementation from Standards to Practice

In the special seminar on "International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG)," Mayo Clinic experts and the HeYou medical management team conducted a systematic review and in-depth discussion around six core areas, including medication safety, fall prevention, and surgical safety verification.

The Pharmacy Department, with a core focus on the closed-loop management of high-alert medications throughout the entire process, along with innovative measures such as visual segregation of look-alike/sound-alike medications, has established a robust medication safety protection network. The Nursing Department shared a multi-dimensional fall prevention system, forming a dual guarantee mechanism of "Technology + Humanity," ranging from real-time smart wristband alerts and dynamic IT system monitoring to the application of anti-slip patient pants and pressure-sensing mattresses.

In the patient identification process, HeYou Hospital has effectively integrated the patient safety concept into every detail of diagnosis and treatment services by optimizing information verification content and improving verification systems and procedures. The Mayo Clinic expert team highly praised this, stating: "HeYou Hospital has deeply embedded a safety culture into its medical operating system, which is the key to building a high-quality medical system."

Nursing Advancement: Dual Track of Tiered Empowerment and Leadership

The nursing session focused on talent pipeline development and leadership upgrading. The HeYou nursing team demonstrated a training system based on Mayo Clinic's TSAMTM tiered skills model, achieving precise matching of nurse competency advancement with job requirements through scenario simulation teaching, mentorship programs, and other methods, thereby enhancing the level of nursing professionalism.

Furthermore, the two parties engaged in a lively and in-depth discussion on building a nursing team leader talent pool to form a stable and high-quality reserve force, as well as enhancing the core leadership competencies of current and potential nursing managers, laying the foundation for the long-term development of the nursing team.

Clinical Rounds: Model Wards and Joint Physician-Nurse Rounds

The Mayo Clinic experts also went deep into the Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Cardiology Department, participating in shift handovers and joint physician-nurse rounds, and provided professional guidance on the mechanisms of rounds in China and the US, content priorities, and key points of doctor-patient communication, offering valuable experience for further improving the standardization and effectiveness of clinical communication.

During this follow-up visit, Mayo Clinic recognized and commended HeYou's achievements on nearly 40 Mayo Clinic improvement items in less than one year.

In the future, HeYou will continue to draw on Mayo Clinic's century-long experience in medical quality management, taking patient safety as the cornerstone and quality and safety management and talent development as the dual engines, to continuously improve the level of medical services and paint a high-standard picture of "Quality Healthcare" in the Greater Bay Area.
