On September 13, 2025, co-hosted by the Guangdong Ethnic Medicine Association and the Guangdong Medical Education Association, and organized by HeYou Hospital, the “2025 Academic Conference of the Pediatric Branch of Guangdong Ethnic Medicine Association, 2025 Academic Conference of the Pediatrics Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association, and the 2nd HeYou Pediatric Forum” was held at HeYou International Hospital Group.

This academic event, continuing its “three-in-one” positioning, brought together renowned pediatric experts from the province to conduct in-depth discussions around the theme “Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine, Digital Intelligence Empowerment, Safeguarding Children's Health,” injecting new wisdom and momentum into the development of pediatric medicine.

Compared to the inaugural forum in 2024, this year's forum achieved a comprehensive upgrade in both the scope of topics and the lineup of experts.The agenda covered multiple core areas including pediatric respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, and neurological systems. It featured cutting-edge Western medicine presentations such as Professor Zhou Dunhua's “Advances in the Treatment of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis” and Professor Zha Caihui's interpretation of “New Advances in ADHD Diagnosis and Treatment,” as well as classic Traditional Chinese Medicine applications like Professor Yang Jinghua's “TCM Diagnosis of Anorexia in Children.” It also introduced digital-era topics aligned with AI, such as Director Liu Wangkai's “Intelligent Construction of National Pediatric Specialties,” comprehensively responding to the pediatric medical needs of Foshan and the Greater Bay Area.

Among these, the sharing by Professor Zhang Zhiwei, Chairman of the Pediatric Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, on “Lifespan Intervention for Congenital Heart Disease,” the lecture by HeYou Hospital's Pediatric Director Professor Li Hong on “The Inspiration of TCM Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow Theory for Pediatric Clinical Practice,” and the TCM diagnostic approaches presented by experts from the Provincial Hospital of TCM and Foshan Hospital of TCM became focal points of the event, offering new “integrated Chinese-Western medicine” solutions for clinical practice.

As the forum's organizer, HeYou Hospital's Pediatrics Department has been focusing on building its pediatric specialty since last year. It includes outpatient and emergency services, a general pediatric ward (with sub-specialties in respiratory, digestive, neurological, and renal diseases), a neonatal ward, and child health and rehabilitation services, providing comprehensive 0-14 year-old pediatric medical care.

Over the past year, the hospital's Pediatrics Department has provided outpatient services to nearly 90,000 children and inpatient services to nearly 2,500 children. Its outpatient volume has consistently ranked first among all hospital departments, successfully establishing the “HeYou Pediatrics” brand reputation in the surrounding area through high-quality medical services.

“Our Pediatrics Department is also actively transforming, focusing on how to help children get sick less often or not at all.” HeYou Hospital's Pediatric Director Li Hong explained that in advancing the practice of “Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine, Digital Intelligence Empowerment,” the department is shifting from the traditional “disease treatment” model to a “healthcare” model. By integrating digital technology to popularize scientific parenting knowledge, it aims to align with the social trend of “declining birth rates but increasing parental health demands,” achieving a leap from disease treatment to health guardianship.

Professor Zheng Qijin, Vice President of HeYou Hospital, stated that the aim is to provide strong support for the long-term development of the hospital's Pediatrics Department through the summit forum format.At the same time, it aims to build an exchange platform for pediatric experts and key personnel from various regions, facilitating shared learning and collaborative development, and jointly providing higher quality medical diagnosis and treatment services for local pediatric patients. Moving forward, the hospital plans to establish a TCM pediatric outpatient clinic and advance TCM ward rounds, fully realizing “Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine” to offer pediatric patients treatment plans that leverage the complementary strengths of both medical systems, helping to shorten treatment courses and improve therapeutic outcomes.
