Recently, HeYou Hospital's fully upgraded Clinical Simulation Training Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was officially inaugurated. The Center took the lead in introducing Laerdal Medical's new generation Paul premature infant simulator, aiming to comprehensively enhance the medical staff's ability to treat premature and critically ill newborns through cutting-edge technology, providing crucial technical support for improving medical quality and patient safety.

Aiming to build a high-level clinical training base, the Center is equipped with advanced simulation teaching equipment and an intelligent teaching system, dedicated to providing medical staff with a realistic and immersive clinical skills training environment.

Highly Realistic Simulation for an Immersive Training Experience

It is reported that Laerdal Paul is a highly realistic 27-week premature infant simulator, designed based on MRI data of real premature infants, integrating realistic anatomical structures with cutting-edge technology. This high-end simulator was launched by Laerdal Medical in May 2025 after acquiring the relevant company. HeYou Hospital is the first medical institution in China to introduce this Laerdal model, pioneering the application of this advanced training technology.

The core advantage of the Paul simulator lies in its comprehensive functionality and high degree of realism, capable of meeting various complex neonatal emergency and nursing training needs:

· Realistic Airway and Respiratory Simulation: Supports training in techniques such as endotracheal intubation, LISA/MIST, and INSURE, and can simulate physiological and pathological breathing patterns;

· Circulation and Interventional Procedure Functions: Palpable pulses in limbs and umbilical cord, supports peripheral catheter and umbilical vein catheter insertion;

· Intelligent Sensing and Feedback System: Detects catheter insertion depth, ventilation tidal volume, chest compression effectiveness, and enables auscultation of breath sounds and heart sounds via a Bluetooth stethoscope;

· Editable Cases and Monitoring System: Pre-loaded with various common premature infant conditions, supports custom case editing, and is compatible with multiple brands of patient monitor interfaces.

Systematic Training to Comprehensively Enhance Treatment Capabilities

Leveraging this high-end simulator, the HeYou Hospital Clinical Simulation Training Center can systematically conduct several key training programs, including premature infant airway management training, respiratory support and mechanical ventilation operations, team collaboration and clinical decision-making in critical situations, and in-situ simulation of premature infant emergencies. Through systematic and scenario-based simulation training, the team's ability to treat premature and critically ill newborns will be continuously enhanced.
