Ankle ligament tear is a common bone and joint disease frequently occurring in sports injuries and daily ankle sprains. It is mostly caused by ankle inversion, eversion, external traction, sports sprains, accidental collisions, and other factors, with lateral ligament injuries being the most common. Mild cases present with ligament strain, edema, and pain, while severe cases involve partial or complete ligament rupture, accompanied by ankle swelling, subcutaneous ecchymosis, limited mobility, and unstable gait. If not treated promptly and properly, it can lead to chronic ankle instability, recurrent sprains, traumatic arthritis, and long-term dull pain, severely affecting daily walking and athletic performance.
