Visiting the Smart Factory, Entering the "Future Hospital": A Shunde Journey for Southern Press Young Reporters into HeYou Hospital

On October 28, the “Smart Factory Exploration, Medical Education Enlightenment” themed research activity for Southern Press Young Reporters was held in Shunde District, Foshan City. Over 20 young reporters from Southern Press visited Midea Building Technologies and HeYou Hospital, experiencing advanced manufacturing technology and learning medical health knowledge, embarking on an interesting and fulfilling urban exploration journey.

Exploring the City’s “Smart Building” and Experiencing Factory Black Technology

Entering the Midea Building Technologies exhibition hall, the gray-white decoration style, neatly arranged building models, and various data jumping on the interactive large screen were full of a sense of technology.

The young reporter group listened attentively to the guide’s introduction at the Midea Building Technologies exhibition hall.

Under the guidance of the instructor, the young reporters first learned about the development history of Midea Building Technologies, as well as the operating principles and core components of chillers. Two components, known as the “heart” of the chiller, were displayed separately, sparking great curiosity among the young reporters.

The smart building of Midea Building Technologies attracted the attention of the young reporters.

“We create buildings with ‘intelligence’, different from ordinary buildings. It is like a human body, with a brain, heart, nervous system, respiratory system...” When the instructor introduced the smart building of Midea Building Technologies, the young reporters took out paper and pens to note down key points.

After visiting the exhibition hall, the young reporter group went to the production workshop of Midea Building Technologies.

Inside the intelligent workshop, it was a different scene. Rows of “sturdy” robotic arms swung continuously, moving materials to designated positions. Automated guided vehicles carrying goods ran along the tracks.

“It’s so impressive!” said Chen Yixuan, a sixth-grader, deeply attracted by the scene. He said he has loved automation since childhood and wants to become a robotics engineer when he grows up.

Entering the “Future Hospital” and Learning Medical Health Knowledge

After visiting Midea Building Technologies, the young reporter group arrived at HeYou Hospital.

In the staff cafeteria of HeYou Hospital, the hospital had prepared a healthy and nutritious lunch with a balanced mix of meat and vegetables for the young reporters. On the purple rice, the characters “HeYou” carved from carrots were displayed, novel and interesting. The young reporters enjoyed their meal very much, and many completed the “Clean Plate Campaign”.

After a short break, an informative and fun medical class was about to begin.

“The heart is like an engine, providing power for the human body; the kidneys mainly function to detoxify...” In the “Our Body” class, Dr. Yang Yang from HeYou Hospital introduced the functions of various human organs to the young reporters, who listened with great interest.

Under the guidance of the doctor-teacher, the young reporters also experienced a “Human Organ Assembly Game”. Many of them were exposed to the “Human Organ Model” for the first time, feeling both novel and excited, while also learning the mysteries of the human body.

Next was the “Little First Aider” class led by Nurse Li Zhenzhen from HeYou Hospital. Nurse Li Zhenzhen taught the young reporters correct first aid knowledge and common misconceptions during the first aid process.

Under the guidance of the nurse-teacher, the young reporters transformed into “Little First Aiders” and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on mannequins, doing it quite proficiently.

Chen Yixuan said: “Today’s activity was very interesting. I learned a lot of useful knowledge and would like to participate again next time.”

At the end of the activity, the young reporters received completion certificates and gifts, concluding an interesting and fulfilling day.

The young reporters had a fulfilling and interesting urban exploration journey.

It is understood that the Southern Press Young Reporters is a public welfare brand activity for young reporters jointly initiated by Nanfang Daily and Nanfang+ Client, under the guidance of the Southern Press Media Group and the Guangdong Journalists Association.
