Sanfu Moxibustion refers to moxibustion treatment performed during the Sanfu days, known as Sanfu Moxibustion. Based on the theory of treating winter diseases in summer and nourishing Yang in spring and summer, Sanfu Moxibustion utilizes the principles of meridian and acupoint theory. By applying warming and Yang-assisting herbal plasters to acupoints that stimulate the body's Yang Qi and meridian pathways, it achieves the effects of warming the meridians, dispelling cold and dampness, thereby improving constitution, restoring health, and enhancing immunity.

Why Undergo Sanfu Moxibustion?

During the hot and humid Sanfu days, people tend to consume large amounts of cold foods such as fruits and cold drinks, and spend prolonged periods in air-conditioned rooms. This makes them susceptible to cold and dampness, leading to Yang Qi impairment and imbalance between Yin and Yang, resulting in discomfort.

The Sanfu days represent the peak of Yang Qi in the year. Therefore, performing moxibustion during this period is the optimal time to boost the body's internal Yang Qi. Through Sanfu Moxibustion, cold and damp pathogenic factors can be expelled from the body, thereby achieving the goal of improving constitution and restoring health.

What is Winter Disease Summer Treatment?

“Winter Disease” refers to certain deficiency-cold conditions that tend to occur or worsen in winter. Due to the body's inherent Yang Qi deficiency, combined with the external environment of Yin excess and Yang deficiency in winter, the body's vital Qi cannot effectively expel pathogens, or it may be further invaded by cold pathogens. This leads to the recurrence or aggravation of chronic diseases such as chronic cough, asthma, wheezing, chronic diarrhea, cold joint pain, aversion to cold, and susceptibility to illness due to physical weakness.

“Summer Treatment” refers to the application of therapeutic measures during the summer Sanfu days, when Yang Qi in nature and the body is at its peak. By warming and supplementing Yang Qi, dispelling cold and pathogens, and promoting blood circulation and meridian flow, these measures can enhance the body's ability to resist disease on one hand, and help eliminate cold pathogenic factors on the other. This achieves the goal of treating or preventing the diseases that tend to occur or worsen in winter.

In simple terms, on one hand, when Yang Qi in nature and the human body is abundant, the body's Yang Qi floats to the surface to resist heat pathogens, while internal Yang Qi is relatively deficient. This is an ideal time to warm and supplement Yang Qi and enhance resistance. On the other hand, during the Sanfu days, the body's pores are open. Using moxibustion at this time can more effectively expel wind, cold, and damp pathogens from the body, achieving the effects of disease prevention and health regulation.
