Health Begins with "Hands" | HeYou Launches a Series of Activities for World Hand Hygiene Day Awareness Week
May 5, 2025 marks the 17th World Hand Hygiene Day. In response to the call of the World Health Organization and to further strengthen the hand hygiene awareness of all medical staff and enhance infection prevention and control capabilities, on the afternoon of April 25, HeYou International Hospital Group organized a series of activities for World Hand Hygiene Day Awareness Week in the Academic Lecture Hall, themed “Rational Use of Gloves, Hand Hygiene is Always Key.”
Signatures and Photos, Jointly Advocating Hand Hygiene
At the beginning of the event, a large signature wall was set up at the entrance of the Academic Lecture Hall. Hospital leaders and medical staff signed and took photos, expressing their affirmation and support for hand hygiene actions. The atmosphere was enthusiastic, demonstrating the high importance the entire hospital places on hand hygiene.


Solemn Oath, Fulfilling Commitments
At 16:30, the event kicked off with an enthusiastic opening speech by the host. Zheng Qijin, member of the Management Committee of HeYou International Hospital Group and Vice President of HeYou Hospital, delivered a speech, hoping that all staff would adhere to hand hygiene standards at a higher level, provide safer and higher quality medical services to patients, and work together to write a new chapter in HeYou’s development.

Subsequently, led by Vice President Zheng Qijin, all participants raised their right hands and solemnly recited the hand hygiene oath: “I pledge to strictly implement hand hygiene standards in medical activities, use clean hands to build a safe medical environment, and let us take immediate action to care for life and protect health with our hands.”
The resounding oath demonstrated the determination of HeYou medical staff to implement hand hygiene.
Specialized Training, Strengthening Awareness
Director Gao Yanxin of the Hospital Infection Control Department delivered a vivid knowledge sharing session, explaining in simple terms the importance of hand hygiene, hand hygiene standards for medical staff, and the rational use of gloves. He also analyzed common problems in the practical application of hand hygiene timing based on clinical cases, further strengthening the theoretical foundation of all staff.

Fun Competition, Learning Through Competition
A hand hygiene operation competition was set up at the event site, with representatives from various departments, logistics, and property management actively participating. The competition environment was intense, testing both the participants’ knowledge of hand hygiene and the standardization of the “Six-Step Handwashing Technique.”

Director Yu Xinguang of the Neurosurgery Department, Head Nurse Chang Houchan of the Operating Center, Deputy Director Shi Yonghao of the Medical Affairs Department, and Senior Manager Deng Xiaoling of the Nursing Department provided on-site evaluations for the representatives of each department, fully acknowledging the efforts and dedication of the department representatives and head nurses in daily hand hygiene training.
At the event, ten medical staff members, including Li Yan, Deng Xiao, and Song Meiqi, who won the hand hygiene knowledge quiz competition, were also recognized.
Summary and Improvement, Continuous Enhancement
At the conclusion of the event, Lu Jiade, member of the Management Committee of HeYou International Hospital Group and Vice President of HeYou Hospital, delivered a summary speech. He fully affirmed the significance of this awareness week and cited data on hand hygiene compliance among medical staff in New York and Singapore, further elucidating the critical role of hand hygiene in hospital infection prevention and control. He called on everyone to continuously enhance hand hygiene awareness and practice hand hygiene standards.
