Branch Establishment Deepens Regional Collaboration

As one of the core achievements of the conference, the Rheumatology and Immunology Physicians Branch of the Foshan Medical Association was officially inaugurated on the morning of April 26. Dr. Yu Qinghong, Director of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at HeYou Hospital, was appointed as the first Chairman of the Committee.

This branch is the first professional organization in Foshan dedicated to rheumatic and immunologic diseases, aiming to integrate the city's medical resources, build a platform for academic exchange, technical training, and multidisciplinary collaboration, and promote standardized and homogenized development in diagnosis and treatment. Director Yu Qinghong stated: "The branch will be service-oriented, focusing on multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultations for difficult diseases and collaboration on domestic and international clinical research, to comprehensively enhance the capabilities of specialist physicians, especially the research and clinical skills of young doctors. We aim to create a 'benchmark platform integrating medical care, education, research, and industry' with the characteristics of the Greater Bay Area and Foshan, providing more precise diagnostic and treatment services for patients!"

Concurrently, the conference brought together scholars including Professor Gu Jieruo from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Professor Liu Xiangyuan from Peking University International Hospital, who delivered cutting-edge reports on topics such as inflammatory mechanisms and targeted therapies. Professor Yu Qinghong, Director of the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at HeYou Hospital, presented a lecture titled "Pathogenic Autoantibodies," systematically elucidating the core role of autoantibodies in diseases and intervention pathways, providing new directions for the discipline's development.
