Gastroenterology Ward Officially Opens, Adding a New Coordinate to HeYou Hospital's Department Map

Leveraging the hospital's comprehensive strength, the Gastroenterology Department has accumulated extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures. The establishment of this independent ward is a pragmatic move by the hospital to align with disciplinary development trends and optimize resource allocation.

At the inauguration ceremony, Professor Zheng Qijin, member of the Management Committee of HeYou International Hospital Group and Vice President of HeYou Hospital, and Professor Li Zijun, Director of the Gastroenterology Ward, delivered speeches, outlining the blueprint for the new ward's development. Vice President Zheng Qijin pointed out that the independence of the Gastroenterology Ward is an inevitable choice for the hospital's specialized and scaled development, and an important practice of the patient-centered philosophy. In the future, the hospital will continue to optimize resource allocation, promote the department to build a regional medical hub integrating clinical care, scientific research, and education, and provide patients with more precise and efficient medical services.

As the leader of the new ward, Professor Li Zijun reviewed the department's development history in his speech. He stated that the department has established a diagnosis and treatment system characterized by endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technology plus the management of complex and critical diseases. It continuously seeks new breakthroughs and innovations, particularly in various minimally invasive treatments under gastrointestinal endoscopy, early cancer screening, ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) techniques, severe pancreatic diseases, management of massive gastrointestinal bleeding, biological therapy for inflammatory bowel disease, and gut microbiota therapy. In the future, the department will focus on construction and improvement in three key areas: technological breakthroughs, talent development, and service enhancement.

The Gastroenterology Department has also launched a hospital department map within the ward to enhance the introduction of new technologies and the promotion of health education on the digestive system, emphasizing the integration of disease prevention and treatment to provide patients with the best diagnostic and therapeutic experience.

The Gastroenterology Department comprises two main sections: the inpatient ward and the Endoscopy Center. The team consists of nearly 30 medical and nursing staff, and the ward is planned to have nearly 50 modern smart beds.

The ward environment is warm and comfortable, incorporating age-friendly design concepts, equipped with fall prevention alarm systems, smart nursing call systems, 24-hour vital signs monitoring, and family companion beds. The ward also features a Sunshine Rehabilitation Area and a Digestive Health Education Corner. From diagnosis and treatment to nursing care and humanistic care, the department provides patients with comprehensive, high-quality, and efficient medical services.

The Endoscopy Center is equipped with internationally advanced endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and has assembled a medical and nursing team covering sub-specialties such as gastrointestinal diseases and hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. It provides patients with full-process, personalized diagnosis and treatment services, illuminating the health of the regional community.
