“I hereby pledge to strictly abide by the ‘Basic Code of Integrity and Self-Discipline for Employees of the HeYou International Hospital Project’: First, uphold the bottom line of professional interactions and refrain from soliciting or accepting bribes; Second, adhere to the principle of good faith and refrain from seeking personal gain through improper means...” With resounding voices and firm vows, on April 13, the HeYou International Hospital’s “Integrity in Hospital Building · Sunshine HeYou” Warning Education Lecture and Integrity Commitment Signing Ceremony was officially launched through a “Online + Offline” dual-channel model.

At the event, attendees poured seeds into the “Integrity HeYou” tree.

Planting a seed of “integrity” for the hospital, allowing it to take root, sprout, blossom, and bear fruit. Centered on the theme of “Integrity in Hospital Building · Sunshine HeYou,” starting this month, HeYou International Hospital is employing a “Static Display + Dynamic Interaction” model. Using integrity culture exhibitions, warning education lectures, and integrity commitments as entry points, the hospital aims to deepen the concept of building the hospital with integrity, create a “No Red Envelope” hospital, ensure commitments are public, known to all, and observed by both medical staff and patients, thereby jointly building an honest medical environment.

Establish Rules and Mechanisms to Implement the “24” Articles

On April 13, at the Integrity Commitment Signing Ceremony, the HeYou International Hospital Project released and interpreted the “HeYou International Hospital Project Accountability Management Measures” through an “Offline Lecture + Online Live Broadcast” format. It also explained the basic code of integrity and self-discipline to employees and medical staff, emphasizing “No accepting red envelopes, no taking kickbacks, no accepting invitations for meals, and strictly adhering to HeYou’s ‘24 Articles’ of Integrity.”

Representatives of attendees signed the Integrity Commitment

On November 12, 2021, the National Health Commission, the National Healthcare Security Administration, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued the “Nine Guidelines for Integrity in the Medical Industry,” upgrading the industry’s “Nine Prohibitions” to “Nine Guidelines.” To better implement the “Nine Guidelines,” the HeYou International Hospital Project proposed an upgraded version—HeYou’s “24 Articles” of Integrity. Tailored to the hospital’s construction status, 24 guidelines were established to comprehensively build a mechanism for integrity and self-discipline.

For example, it is strictly prohibited to solicit or accept property from partners or patients; to accept high-value gifts from partners or patients under the pretext of weddings, birthdays, funerals, etc.; to embezzle, steal, or defraud hospital property; or to use the hospital’s name for fraudulent activities outside.

The “HeYou International Hospital Project Accountability Management Measures” was released and interpreted via “Online Live Broadcast.”

Integrity in Hospital Building, Sunshine HeYou. HeYou’s “24 Articles” of Integrity will be made into Integrity Commitment Identity Certificates—“Photo + Commitment + Signature”—and placed in prominent locations such as patient waiting areas, treatment areas, and project construction zones, ensuring immediate visibility for patients and partner clients.

A relevant person in charge of the HeYou International Hospital Project stated that the series of activities for building the hospital with integrity aims to achieve low internal operational costs, avoiding the transfer of internal costs to society or patients. The concept of building the hospital with integrity will be implemented thoroughly, applied to every stage, every link, and every corner of the hospital, enabling multi-party collaboration to build a “bridge of integrity” and jointly create a healthy and harmonious medical environment.

Focus on Education and Frequent Warnings to Cultivate a “Clean” Culture

“Pure White Coat, Spotless Integrity,” “Clean Hands, Pure Heart”… Starting this month, a series of posters, slogans, logos, and short videos representing the integrity image of the HeYou International Hospital Project have been launched. From the hospital’s project construction area and office area to its affiliated Meihe Hospital, this integrity culture system themed “Integrity in Hospital Building · Sunshine HeYou” will be presented through static displays: placing the “24 Articles,” integrity slogans, and logos in prominent positions; and playing integrity-themed comics and short videos on a loop on LED screens in the outpatient hall and other areas, as well as on scrolling screens for patient convenience services.

Integrity slogans are placed in prominent positions, and integrity-themed posters are played on a loop on the outpatient LED screen and scrolling display.

The “Static Display” serves both as a firm yet gentle warning and provides a visually pleasing experience, like a gentle breeze, infusing the HeYou International Hospital Project with an aura of “integrity.” Simultaneously, through the normalization of warning education and a “Dynamic Interaction” model, the concept of building the hospital with integrity is deeply rooted in people’s minds.

On April 13, the HeYou International Hospital Project simultaneously conducted a warning education lecture both “Online + Offline,” inviting Pan Mei, Deputy Director of the Case Review Office of the Foshan Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, to deliver a warning education lecture titled “Analysis of Typical Corruption Cases in the Medical Field.”

Case after case, warning after warning—this “first-hand account” warning education class was shocking and thought-provoking. Next, the HeYou International Hospital Project will conduct more targeted and operational warning education sessions in different business departments. Additionally, integrity education has been included as a compulsory course in the pre-job training for new hospital staff, building the first line of defense for integrity and self-discipline from an ideological perspective.

Promote Engineering and Ensure Integrity, Achieving “Dual Synchronization”

With the clarion call for building an “Integrity Hospital,” the clean breeze will sweep through every corner of HeYou International Hospital, achieving “dual synchronization” of engineering construction and integrity hospital building.

In the project construction area, staff simultaneously conducted integrity commitment pledges and watched the warning education lecture via online live broadcast.

As a key construction project of Guangdong Province, the HeYou International Hospital Project, founded and funded by Midea Holding, held its groundbreaking ceremony in November 2020 and is expected to officially commence operations in June 2024. This year, the hospital’s main building is expected to reach its topping-out stage, and construction of the Proton and Heavy Ion Center will also begin. Currently, the affiliated Meihe Hospital of the HeYou International Hospital Project is already in operation.

In April, designated as the Integrity Culture Month for the HeYou International Hospital Project, the hospital is strengthening the construction of integrity systems and establishing channels for complaints and reports (email, phone, and WeChat). This further clarifies the hospital’s integrity and compliance bottom line, guides employees at all levels to correctly perform their duties, and fosters a cultural atmosphere of honesty, integrity, fairness, and justice.

In the next phase, the HeYou International Hospital Project will actively advance the construction of an integrity hospital. Under the guidance of the municipal and district-level Commissions for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, it will create a “No Red Envelope” hospital. Starting with strengthening education and raising awareness, it will deepen the concept of “Integrity in Hospital Building, Sunshine HeYou,” adopt multiple measures simultaneously, forge a capable, efficient, and honest medical and health service team, and build a high-level hospital that is trusted by the people, harmonious, and clean.
