The PCR Laboratory of the Medical Laboratory Center at HeYou Hospital has successfully passed the acceptance inspection for clinical gene amplification testing by the Provincial Clinical Laboratory Center. This means that after HeYou Hospital opens, it can immediately conduct genetic testing for hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, human papillomavirus, respiratory virus nucleic acids, individualized drug therapy, and molecular genetics. This achievement not only enhances the testing capabilities of the Medical Laboratory Center but also promotes the collaborative development of departments, further improving the patient experience.

On April 2, an expert panel from the Guangdong Provincial Clinical Laboratory Center, including Hou Tieying, Jiang Tao, and Chen Jialing, conducted a technical review and acceptance inspection of the Clinical Gene Amplification Testing Laboratory (PCR Laboratory) at HeYou Hospital. Strictly adhering to national standards, the experts conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the laboratory's setup and equipment, facilities and environment, personnel configuration, equipment management, testing methods, specimen management, records and reports, and quality control through listening to reports, reviewing real-time photos, and examining documentation. They also conducted on-site assessments of laboratory operators.

The expert panel concluded that the PCR Laboratory at HeYou Hospital has established a quality assurance system, and the processes for specimen reception, processing, testing, and reporting comply with quality documentation requirements. The hardware conditions and testing capabilities of the PCR Laboratory meet the relevant acceptance standards. Finally, the panel affirmed the construction of the Clinical Gene Amplification Laboratory and unanimously agreed to pass the technical acceptance in a single review. This also represents amilestone development in molecular biology testing technology for the Medical Laboratory Center.

The laboratory is equipped with a reagent preparation area, sample processing area, amplification area, and amplification product analysis area, each with its own buffer zone. The laboratory is a Class 10,000 laminar flow laboratory, with airflow direction designed to decrease air pressure sequentially from the reagent preparation area to the sample processing area and then to the amplification area, effectively ensuring the management of gene amplification experiments and the protection needs of personnel.
Currently, the main equipment includes fully automated nucleic acid extractors, real-time fluorescence PCR instruments, Class II biological safety cabinets, clean benches, high-speed centrifuges, vortex mixers, etc., providing a complete and integrated testing capability. This provides a strong guarantee for the hospital to carry out various advanced, precise, and cutting-edge new testing technology projects.
