From March 29 to 30, the “CCUSG Critical Care Ultrasound Series Training (Guangzhou Station)”, hosted by the Beijing Critical Care Ultrasound Research Association and co-organized by the Department of Critical Care Medicine of HeYou Hospital in Shunde District, Foshan City, and the Department of Critical Care Medicine of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University, was successfully concluded at HeYou Hospital, Shunde. As a key site for the national promotion of critical care ultrasound technology, this event, centered on “In-depth Theory, Practical Empowerment, and Technological Innovation,” attracted critical care medicine experts, clinical medical staff, and researchers from over 20 provinces and cities across the country to gather in Foshan. Through diversified curriculum design and high-standard academic exchanges, they explored the cutting-edge development and standardized application of critical care ultrasound technology.

I. Rooted in Foshan, Radiating Nationwide: Three Curriculum Systems Precisely Match Clinical Needs

This training featured three parallel tracks: the Critical Care Ultrasound Nursing Class, the New Basic Training Class, and the ECMO Advanced Class, covering the full spectrum of technical scenarios from basic to advanced levels, providing targeted improvement plans for healthcare workers at different levels:

1. Critical Care Ultrasound Nursing Class: Technology Downward, Empowering Nursing Innovation

✅ Focus on Pain Points: Targeting operational difficulties in critical care nursing, practical courses such as “Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Vascular Catheterization,” “Deep Vein Thrombosis Screening,” and “Pressure Injury Assessment” were set up. Led by experts including Wang Xiaoting, Zhang Qing, and Chen Bo, combined with mannequin simulation and real-time imaging feedback, the courses helped nursing teams master precise and safe ultrasound-assisted techniques.

✅ Clinical Integration: Through modules such as “Lung Ultrasound Case Analysis” and “Gastrointestinal Function Assessment,” the collaborative efficiency between nursing and medical teams was deepened, enhancing the quality of whole-process management for critically ill patients.

2. Critical Care Ultrasound New Basic Class: Solidifying Foundations, Standardizing Procedures

✅ Systematic Teaching: From the assessment of cardiac systolic/diastolic function, the lung “six-step” examination, to the basics of ultrasound for organs such as the brain and kidneys, experts including Yao Yulong, Huang Wei, and Li Yiran provided step-by-step analysis, strengthening participants' image interpretation and clinical decision-making abilities.

✅ Practical Integration: Multi-scenario case consultations and standardized assessments were set up to ensure the standardization and consistency of technical application.

3. ECMO Advanced Class: Advanced Breakthrough, Focusing on Precision Management

✅ Technical Deepening: Focusing on core topics such as volume regulation, organ function monitoring, and complication management during ECMO therapy, experts including Cen Zhongran, Cai Shuhan, and Zhu Ying, combined with complex cases such as AMI (Acute Myocardial Infarction) and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome), analyzed the dynamic monitoring value of ultrasound throughout the entire ECMO process.

✅ Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Through WORKSHOP simulations of VA/VV ECMO weaning decisions and hemodynamic management, the team's collaborative efficiency in critical care was enhanced.

III. Successful Conclusion, Discussing the Future Together

After the training, participants expressed: “The course content is both cutting-edge and practical. Particularly, the ECMO simulation exercises and real-time ultrasound image analysis provided by HeYou Hospital greatly boosted our confidence in managing complex cases.” During the event, a total of 28 theoretical lectures, 12 practical training groups, and 8 case discussions were completed.
