Endocrinology Department

Department Introduction

The Endocrinology Department primarily diagnoses and treats: diabetes mellitus, diabetes with acute and chronic complications, obesity, hyperlipidemia, hyperuricemia, gout, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, pituitary diseases, adrenal diseases, gonadal diseases, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, endocrine hypertension, endocrine crises, and hypoglycemia. The department is equipped with advanced facilities and experimental conditions, conducting oral glucose tolerance tests, HbA1c, glycated serum albumin, insulin, pituitary, adrenal, gonadal, and thyroid hormone tests; it is equipped with insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and other devices, offering treatments such as insulin pump therapy for diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring, and early diabetes screening; it also provides radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism.

  • Diabetes Reversal Treatment for Obesity

For newly diagnosed obese patients with diabetes, weight-loss-promoting glucose-lowering medications such as GLP-1 receptor agonists are used. This is combined with dietary intervention, formulating a low-sugar, low-fat, high-fiber diet plan to control caloric intake. For exercise, a combined aerobic and resistance training program is customized based on the patient's physical capacity to enhance metabolism and improve insulin resistance, ultimately achieving diabetes reversal and reducing or even completely discontinuing glucose-lowering medications.

  • Diabetes Patient Treatment

Whole-course individualized blood glucose management both in and out of the hospital, early intensive insulin pump therapy for diabetic patients, and diagnosis and treatment of diabetic complications.

  • Multidisciplinary Management of Thyroid Diseases

For thyroid diseases, particularly hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy, joint diagnosis and treatment are conducted with departments including General Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Ophthalmology to develop systematic and individualized treatment plans.

  • Weight Loss Treatment

Utilizing the most advanced internationally recognized weight-loss medications with the fewest side effects for intervention, combined with multiple individualized treatment plans from other departments, to achieve scientific, safe, and effective weight loss results.
